How Does Your PQRS Data Look?
November 17, 2016
Written by Sarah Leake
It’s the “final countdown” and the last month for collecting and reviewing your data for 2016 PQRS reporting. Here is a short list of ideas to improve your success for data submission.
1) Know the reporting requirements of your EHR vendor, Registry or other method that you are using. Monitor that data extracted fits the requirements.
- Num/Den values appear correct for the particular measures.
- Ensure the EHR is configured properly for the measures.
- Verify that the measure and the EHR workflows are being followed to maximize the quality values.
- Data is in the correct format for reporting method – for example, Registry or QCDR XML, QRDA Category 1 and 3, Registry Template Data, Web Interface.
2) Perform Test submittals of data through Registry or using QualityNet Submission Engine Validation Tool (SVET).
3) Know the deadline for the reporting for the method you have chosen to report. CMS has deadlines, but be sure you know what dates the EHR vendor or the registry have established as these will be earlier dates.
For efficacy, you want to select and monitor measures that align and complement your Quality Improvement goals. Use this last month to fine tune your PQRS measure selections for reporting.
