Introducing the Jump Start Stewardship Toolkit

We spent a lot of time looking for resources and tools to help us lead you on your journey towards implementing an antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP). One jumped out as a great tool for us to use, since it was created for small rural health care facilities.
It is the Jump Start Stewardship Implementation Guide. This guide walks you through the ASP implementation process. Although it is based on a program for inpatient facilities, we will work to include the necessary information for outpatient implementation as well.
The purpose of the implementation guide is to provide small hospitals and health care facilities with guidance, tools, consultation and access to ABS experts. These resources can help each facility create the framework and strategic plan needed to implement a feasible, small-scale ASP tailored to fit your unique setting.
We will be walking you through all the tasks outlined in the workbook through monthly webinars and education.

The Jump Start Stewardship workbook was prepared by Qualis Health for the EQuIP program. The EQuIP Program is a joint partnership between Qualis Health (the Washington and Idaho Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization), Washington State Department of Health, Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA) and local chapters of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC).
