If your facility meets the requirements and can provide proof for a significant hardship, your facility could avoid a negative payment adjustment. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardship Exception Application Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The application for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) is <strong>now available online<\/strong> as <a href=\"https:\/\/cmsqualitysupport.service-now.com\/nav_to.do?uri=%2Fcom.glideapp.servicecatalog_cat_item_view.do%3Fv%3D1%26sysparm_id%3Dcdcd71c0dbdf2700277d30ca7c96191e\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a web-based application<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If an electronic submission is not possible, you may verbally submit your application over the phone by calling the QualityNet Help Desk at (866) 288-8912.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>eligible hospitals<\/strong> hardship submission deadline is <strong>July 1, 2019<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>CAHs<\/strong> hardship submission deadline is <strong>November 30, 2019<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may want to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cms.gov\/Regulations-and-Guidance\/Legislation\/EHRIncentivePrograms\/Downloads\/Medicare_PIHardship_FactSheet.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">check out the Medicare PI program hardship exception fact sheet<\/a>.
