MU: 2016 Medicare Payment Adjustments and Attestation Deadlines<\/h1>\n

This information is for EPs and EHs participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program (meaningful use) only.<\/p>\n

If 2016 is the first year you are participating in the Medicare meaningful use program, you will only need to report data for a 90-day period.\u00a0 However, \u00a0if you want to avoid Medicare payment adjustments for CY2017, you will need to attest to meaningful use by October 1, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So if you are a clinic and have new providers, check to see if they have ever participated in MU before. \u00a0If they have not participated, you will need to submit their MU attestation before October 1, 2016 to avoid Medicare penalties next year.<\/p>\n

If you are a hospital new to the Medicare MU program, you will need to submit your 2016 MU attestations by October 1, 2016 to avoid Medicare penalties next year.<\/p>\n
