Helena, Mont., <\/strong>\u2013 Mountain-Pacific Quality Health announces the opening of
\na new office on the island of Guam.<\/p>\n

Mountain-Pacific is a Quality Improvement Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QINQIO)
\nthat holds federal contracts from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services with the
\ngoal of improving health care. By partnering with health care providers, practitioners,
\nstakeholders and patients, Mountain-Pacific aims to achieve better care and healthier populations
\nwhile lowering health care costs.<\/p>\n

Guam, the largest island in Micronesia, has roughly 160,000 residents and is located in the
\nnorthwest Pacific Ocean. Mountain-Pacific\u2019s new office will serve as a resource center for
\nMedicare members and providers in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cMountain-Pacific has served the Medicare population in Guam in some capacity since 1997,\u201d
\nsaid Sara Medley, Mountain-Pacific\u2019s CEO. \u201cThe new office in Guam, staffed by three part-time
\nGuamanians, demonstrates our commitment to improving the lives of the people we serve in this
\nregion. We are honored to have this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lance Segawa, Mountain-Pacific\u2019s Hawaii state director (which includes the territory of Guam),
\nelaborated on what this office means for the residents of Guam and the surrounding
\ncommunities: \u201cThe establishment of the Guam office provides an accessible resource center for
\nMedicare members and community providers. The Guam office sends a positive message to the
\ncommunity that Mountain-Pacific is committed to supporting the territories in improving health
\ncare delivery for Medicare members and the broader community.\u201d<\/p>\n
