Five Wyoming nursing homes received the top honor\u2014the <em>Recognition of Quality Excellence Award<\/em>. Three nursing homes received the <em>Recognition of Quality Achievement Award and seven nursing homes received the Innovator Quality Award<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Awards were presented on June 25, 2019 in Casper during the Wyoming Quality Health Care Conference. All award recipients showed their dedication to quality care by meeting the high-quality standards required to receive any award level.<\/p>\n<p>The Centers for Medicare &#038; Medicaid Services (CMS) supports the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative (NNHQCC) through the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) program. Mountain-Pacific is the local QIN-QIO for Wyoming.<\/p>\n<p>The NNHQCC\u2019s goals are to instill quality and performance improvement practices, eliminate healthcare-acquired conditions and improve resident satisfaction. To measure how well nursing homes are achieving these goals, CMS created a \u201ccomposite score\u201d system\u2014the lower the score, the better.
