New Antibiotic Usage Tracking Tool and Resources

Introducing the new (beta version) outpatient antibiotic usage tool, created through the work of the Montana Antibiotic Stewardship Collaborative. Below are links to this new tool and the webinar/demo on how to use it.

• This Excel spreadsheet can be used to track antibiotic usage in outpatient settings. This is only a beta version, so if you have questions or comments, please contact Jamie Schultz at Montana Hospital Association for assistance.

Description:

1. Review the four Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Core Elements for outpatient antibiotic stewardship.
2. Understand why antibiotic stewardship is important in the outpatient setting.
3. Learn how one small clinic utilized a simple tracking and reporting tool to monitor its antibiotic prescribing and how it was shared with prescribers for improving outcomes.
4. Discuss how to use the antibiotic usage data to improve your antibiotic stewardship efforts.
