MU: Failing a Meaningful Use Audit

August 1, 2016
Written by Patty Kosednar

One sure fire way to fail a meaningful use audit is to not have the documentation to support your MU performance.  Don’t let this happen to you.  Take a look at the CMS Audit tip sheet (which was updated for this year) which gives you a good list of how to document both the threshold measures (the ones that you attest with numerator/denominator data) and the yes/no measures.

Give yourself a break and create some of this documentation now so it doesn’t get lost in the end of year MU madness.  Make electronic copies of all your CMS audit documentation and store it on a network/computer drive that gets backed up regularly.

Get a copy of the 2016 CMS Audit Checklist.
