MU: Check for Medicaid Eligible Providers for MU
July 7, 2016

As you know, for a provider to be eligible for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, they must have over 30% Medicaid patient encounters, and a hospital is 10%. Your provider’s and organization’s patient volumes change year to year, so rerun your Medicaid reports to identify any new providers who can attest to the Medicaid EHR program, or to verify existing eligibility . Each state has different patient volume calculation criteria, so check with your state to get the details on how to calculate this for your providers.
If you have a provider who is eligible for both the Medicaid and the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, you will need to attest to the incentive program they did last year. You can no longer switch between programs. If you are an RHC or FQHC, you may find newly Medicaid eligible providers. If you are not sure where to get the eligibility calculation for your state, contact us. Good Luck.
