MT DPHHS ASP Deliverables Due by 7/10

June 28, 2017

If you have been recruited by Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services (MT DPHHS) to participate in its program and receive funding for implementing your Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP), you have deliverables due by 7/10.

Please complete and submit a copy of this spreadsheet to Karl Milhon at kmilhon@MT.gov by the 10th of July. Scanned documents you have that would support the documentation can be pasted into the tabs of the spreadsheet to support your hospital’s efforts. We will also review them for best practice potential use and will approach any hospital prior to doing so.

You may also use this document to meet the documentation requirements for JCAHO certification or other certification site visits to support the status of your ASP.

Final payment for the DPHHS deliverables of approximately $5,000.00 (allocations based upon completed deliverables) will be partially based upon this document. You can anticipate receipt of those funds by the end of July 2017 or early August.

Critical Access Hospitals will not be required to have solved their dedicated pharmacist problems in this year’s deliverables, but Prospective Payment System hospitals will be required to address pharmacist-specific deliverables.

As a group, we will be working on the CAH pharmacist issues in the next deliverable year beginning July 1 of 2017. Contingent upon receipt of federal funding to support efforts (approximately August 1, 2017) next year’s deliverables will be developed and provided by September 1, 2017 addressing second-year deliverables.

We very much appreciate what you are doing and the Montana Hospital Association, Mountain-Pacific QIN-QIO, DPHHS, the University of Montana Rural Improvement Collaborative are looking forward to working with you to improve antimicrobial stewardship efforts in Montana. Outcome measures are being developed along with processes that will be provided in the future. We appreciate Pondera Medical center for providing this spreadsheet approach to reporting.

If you have any questions or run into issues with your antimicrobial stewardship program implementation and would like help, please use the “Leave a Reply” section below, or email Patty Kosednar directly with your questions or comments. We will have one of our subject matter experts get back to you.
